Introduction:
Please allow me the opportunity to take a few minutes of your time and introduce ourselves. I grew up in a Christian home. I was saved when I was five years old and when I was eight I surrendered to full-time missions work. Since that time, my life as been one of preparation to answer the burden that God had given me. I entered Baptist Bible College (Springfield, Missouri) in the fall of 1992 in the missions program. I graduated in the spring of 1996. I met my wife in 1997 and Lydia and I were married in 1998. Lydia is a MK (missionary’s kid). She grew up in England ministering with her parents, Dwane and Janice Baker. Grandpa Baker passed away in January 2010 and Mom is currently serving with the Baptist Bible Fellowship on the field of Haiti. She was saved when she was five years old and surrendered to full – time missions work when she was ten. In November of 1998, I became the Associate Pastor at Brooking Heights Baptist Church in Raytown, Missouri, under Pastor Stephen Jones. God used this time mightily in our lives, but He never took away the call to full-time missions work. Also during this time, God also gave us our first child, Eliza in January of 2002. Esther Pearl, our second, was born on October 13, 2003. Elijah Andrew was born on October 26, 2005. After about 2 1/2 years on deputation, we moved to Mongolia in September 2006. Ethan Peter was born on February 15, 2008. After a short battle with cancer, Esther passed away on April 2nd, 2010. In February 2012, God directed us to change fields and we moved to Chuncheon, South Korea. After moving to Korea, we began language studies. In early 2013, the Nathan Kowach family moved to Chuncheon to start Chuncheon Lighthouse Baptist Church. At that time, we began working together to start Chuncheon Lighthouse Baptist Church. While we were serving in Chuncheon, God blessed us with two more boys: Evan (March 8th, 2013) and Ezra (November 12, 2014). During the summer of 2015, God opened the door for us to move to Incheon. After spending a great time in prayer and fasting, we decided to move to Incheon, South Korea. So, in November 2015, we moved to Incheon, South Korea and began working at Incheon International Baptist Church. In October 2017, we transitioned the church to Korean leadership. Since then, we have been serving at Yongsan Baptist Church in central Seoul. On September 14, 2020, God blessed us with another boy, Enoch Rufus. After serving in Korea for almost 9 years, through a series of events, including visa related difficulties, God directed us in May of 2021 to Canada. We arrived in Canada in March 2022 and are serving at Calvary Baptist Church.
Testimonies:
Daniel’s Testimony:
I grew up in a Christian home. From my earliest days, I can remember my parents taking me to church. I went to a Christian school for kindergarten when I was five years old. On the bus one morning, I came under conviction. I realized that I was a sinner and in need of a Saviour. I prayed and asked God to save me. That evening after telling my parents what happened, I spoke with our pastor. I was baptized when I was eight years old. God called me to full-time missionary service when I was eight years old under the ministry of Calvin Eastwood. Since then, my life as been one of preparation for the missions field. During high school I took classes that I thought would be a benefit to me as a missionary. When it came time for college, the choice was easy. I enrolled in Baptist Bible College, in Springfield, Missouri in the fall of 1992 in the missions program. While I was in college, I was really challenged in my walk with God. As a result, I rededicated my life to God my Junior year. I graduated in BBC in the spring of 1996. God led me to Lydia in the fall of 1997 and we were married on August 15, 1998.
Lydia’s Testimony:
I grew up as a missionary kid in England. On April Fool’s Day, it was no joke when I went to my dad and asked him how to be saved. I was five years old. I was baptized in Bury, England when I was nine. At the age of ten, I knew that God was calling me into His service as a missionary. I enrolled at Baptist Bible College, Springfield, Missouri, in the missions program planning on being a single missionary to China or Japan. God had other ideas and I met my husband in 1997.
